Marga Gual Soler
Dr. Marga Gual Soler was born and raised in front of the Mediterranean on the island of Mallorca. She has a degree in Biology from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Queensland in Australia. In 2014 she hung up her gown to go to work at the UN in New York on science for sustainable development and was part of the Global Program for Leadership and Competitiveness at Georgetown University. Today she travels around the world as a project manager at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Center for Scientific Diplomacy.
Marga works with governments, universities, NGOs and multilateral organizations promoting science as an instrument for diplomacy, peace and sustainable development. Marga is also an expert in leadership and a member of several high-level councils, including the research, innovation and science policy advisory group of European Commissioner Carlos Moedas. She was named among the "100 Spanish experts in innovation" by the Cotec Foundation and "40 Under 40 in Foreign Policy" by the Huffington Post.
